Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered problems to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles struck the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the urban area came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and three other people were wounded.

The assaults succeed nights of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were preparing for further attacks.
